Runfest rivals Ginfest at Edenside as crowds enjoy big Carlisle win.

An impressive all-round performance from stand in professional, Ernest Kemm steered Carlisle to a commanding 169-run victory over Dalton at Edenside - as hundreds enjoyed the club's first ever Gin Festival.
Kemm's untroubled 118 was the bedrock of a big Carlisle score as the home side took control.
After Carlisle had lost opener, Jordan Whinn early, Kemm shared successive partnerships of 114 with Tom Benn, who made 40, and 124 with skipper Marc Brown, who finished unbeaten on 51.

Early on, Brown battled his frustrations as he sought to get off the mark, making only two of the first 50 runs he and Kemm contributed.

But with big games in league and cup to come, the skipper's return to form drew cheers from home supporters.

A total of 265 looked formidable at the half way stage, and so it proved for a below strength Dalton batting line up.

Seamer, Phil Frazer, returning to the first team after a month's absence, captured two quick early wickets, before Kemm's left arm finger spin throttled the middle order. His figures of 3-12 easily making him man of the match.
Young pace bowler, Taryn Reay, though, gave him some competition in the field with another assured performance, ending with three wickets of his own.
Wickets apiece for Fraser Conn and James Lythgoe wrapped the innings up on just 96.

In the pavilion, the chairman celebrated a half century of his own - more than 50-gins at the club's Gin Festival sampled by eager drinkers, making for a wonderful atmosphere around the ground.

Carlisle retain third place in the Premier Division, a point ahead of the chasing pack, with leaders Cleator the visitors to Edenside next Saturday.
