We can now announce all the relevant details for junior coaching, membership and playing dates for the forthcoming 2018 season.

REGISTRATION EVENING: Registration, for those that can make it, will take place at Carlisle CC on Wednesday April 18th at 7pm.  Membership forms will be available, payment can be taken and team managers will be on hand to chat to players and parents.  We look forward to seeing you there. If you can't make it, forms will be available at training nights, details below.

COACHING NIGHTS: Please make sure you note the following dates and times for coaching, led by fully accredited ECB coaches. All sessions place the emphasis on having fun and learning in a supportive environment.

1. Under-11s. Training will be held on Friday evenings, between 5pm and 6.30pm. The first session will be on Friday April 27th.

2. Under-13s. Training will be held on Wednesdays between 4.30pm and 6pm. This is a change of time from last year but the sessions will be led by cricket coach, James Bell, along with team managers and our 2018 professional, Derwal Green, a Jamaican international.

3. Under-15s. Training will remain on Friday evenings between 6.30pm and 8pm. Sessions will be led by coaches Fraser Conn, Mark McAlindon and our pro, Derwal Green.

4. All-Stars. Our very youngest cricketers will start their new programme of fun and games on Saturday May 12th between 9 and 10am. There will be separate updates on All-Stars news, so watch our website and social media feeds. Go to the ECB website for immediate details and sign ups.

TEAM MANAGERS: The following coaches will lead the management of our junior sides. Contact details will be available at registration night.

Under-11 Blue - James Dawson

Under-11 Green - James Bell

Under-13 Blue - Vince Sharp

Under-13 Green - tbc

Under-15 - Mark McAlindon.

All-Stars - James Bell will lead the sessions with support from club coaches every Saturday morning from May 12th.

VOLUNTEERS:  Team managers and coaches do an incredible amount of work, but need support.  If you can offer coaching assistance, match day help such as offering refreshments and taking on any admin role such as helping to contact parents and players, then please step forward. At the end of the day, it helps make the experience of learning and playing cricket for your child all the more enjoyable and straightforward. Contact James Bell or Mark McAlindon via the club or on social media.

PERSONNEL NEWS:  Finally, I'm sure we'd all like to say a massive thank you to Bryan Laidlow who is stepping down as junior co-ordinator this year to concentrate on other Committee and Club responsibilities. Bryan has done a truly magnificent job, and under his watch we have seen talented young players climb through the system and stay within the game, which is what it's all about.

He's a modest man, but do pat him on the back and say thanks when you see him.

Bryan's replacement is the familiar face of James Bell, a hugely popular coach. Jimmy has spent the winter playing and coaching in New Zealand, so comes home full of fresh ideas and bags of commitment.

Please give him a big welcome and as much help as you can.
